Bifurcation in nuclear physics

Description
Experimental data concerning rotational bands of odd-neutron Yb isotopes are given. Bands, based on the Nilsson's states Kπ(NnZΛ) of the i13/2 subshell, are shown. Levels with the spin from I=13/2 up to extremely high I, however, lying below the first backbending, are analyzed in each band. Confluence of the curves, corresponding to the sequences of levels with even and odd I-j values, is an indication of bifurcation appearance
