Quantum diffraction effects in a statistical theory of heavy ion reactions
Description
In the energy range of (1-10) MeV/nucleon the dominant reaction mechanism between medium-heavy or heavy nuclei was found to be the so-called ''deep inelastic'' or ''heavily damped'' collision. The author considers the problem of quantum effects in the dynamics of collective variables. There are two kinds of collective variables: the position vectors of the nuclear centres on the one hand and the variables describing the shapes, charges, and masses of the nuclei on the other. The last-mentioned variables perform damped periodic motions. (Auth.)
