Nonlocal monitoring of energy-release distribution in a large reactor

Description

The basis of modern methods of monitoring the spatial distribution of energy release in a large reactor such as the VVER type is the direct or indirect measurement of the thermal power of individual elements or regions of the core (channels, fuel assemblies, etc.) and the subsequent extension of the information obtained to the entire core by computational methods of reconstruction. The accuracy of the reconstruction of the energy-release distribution directly affects the reliability and efficiency of the reactor's operation. Others have proposed and developed a generalized method of reconstruction from readings for the general case of nonlocal monitor detectors. This paper examines some aspects of nonlocal monitoring that are not reflected in the cited references
