Investigation of initial heating and cyclic operations of the regenerative air preheaters of MHD pilot plant (Paper No. HMT-63-87)
Description
The regenerative air preheaters (APH) of the Indian MHD Pilot plant have been commissioned recently. Experiments to investigate the initial heating up and cyclic operations of the APH have been conducted. A complex heat transfer phenomenon takes place between the pebble bed and the gases flowing through it. The partial differential equations governing this heat transfer have been solved numerically. The present paper compares the transient temperature distribution functions in the bed as predicted numerically with the experimentally measured values. (author). 7 figs
