Problems in the perturbation analysis of a universe dominated by a coherent scalar field

Description

The temporal bahavior of density fluctuations in a universe dominated by a coherent scalar field is investigated. Our analysis strongly indicates that the coherent nature of the scalar field restrains the growth of density inhomogeneities. This raises a serious problem against a cosmological model which is dominated by a coherent scalar field such as the invisible axion. (author)
