Preparation of solidified biological specimen by γ-ray-induced polymerization

Description
Solidification of soft organisms at room temperature was achieved by γ-ray-induced polymerization of a hydrophilic liquid monomer exchanged with the inner water. Typical recipes are givien for an egg of 2.5 cm in diameter and for a bulb of a plant. This technique would be applicable to preparation of the large permanent sections of biological specimens.
