Analysis of overexposure cases amongst radiation workers in DAE institutions

  • 1. Personnel Monitoring Section, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Personnel Monitoring Section, in addition to non-DAE institutions, is providing personnel monitoring for external radiations to DAE institutions in Mumbai like Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, RMC, BRIT and TIFR etc. and also to some DAE institutions outside Mumbai like IRE, CAT etc. The paper presents cases of overexposure (equivalent dose of 310 mSv recorded during a monitoring period) for the three years of current five year block of 1999- 2003. The main focus is to minimise such instances, especially non-genuine exposures and to avoid recurrence of such cases since a lot of time is spent in the investigations and follow up actions of such cases.
