The Selection of Greases for the Lubrication of Bearings in the Dragon Reactor. Dragon Project Report
Description
To select a suitable lubricant for the bearings in the Dragon charge machine a number of commercially available greases have been examined by evaporation and ball bearing tests. As a result of these tests only the Shell product A.P.L.701 can be recommended. Moreover this grease should be an effective lubricant for bearings for the life time of the reactor (20 years) provided that grease losses by mechanical causes can be avoided. (author)
