Description
Purpose: To improve the reliability of a thermonuclear device by aligning the direction of the toroidal magnetic fields and the longitudinal direction of a linear which is mounted to the inside of the vacuum vessel containing plasmas to thereby reduce the electromagnetic force exerted on the liner. Constitution: A liner is mounted to the inside of the vacuum vessel in a thermonuclear device so as to prevent the vacuum vessel from being damaged by plasmas at super high temperature, and the longitudinal direction of the liner is aligned with the toroidal direction. Since no electromagnetic force is resulted between the circumferential currents and the magnetic fields, the electromagnetic force exerted on the liner is reduced. This can decrease the bending stress on the liner and, thereby, improve the reliability of the thermonuclear device. (Moriyama, K.)
