Synchrotron radiation, X rays and neutrons at the service of materials - Stress and texture analysis

This bibliographical note presents a book which addresses new equipment and the most recent evolutions of stress and texture analysis techniques in relationship with existing European high energy synchrotron installations and with the future European spallation source. The author outlines the interest of neutrons in material characterization, describes the use of synchrotron radiation in material science, discusses the assessment and problems in stress measurement, measurement techniques, the influence of texture, and the interpretation of residual stresses by means of numerical simulation, and finally comments the applications in various sectors (aeronautic, high speed railway, geology, biomaterials, new materials...)
