Phthalocyanines and related compounds

Description
Diphthalocyanines of Hf(4) and Zr(4) are prepared by melting phthlonitrile and the corresponding metal chloride at 310-315 deg C; their spectral electrochemical properties are studied. It is shown that the given compounds are capable to reversible chemical and electrochemical redox reactions. They are similar to diphthalocyanines of rare earth elements by their properties. A possibility of their application as electrochromatic components in display is marked
