Enclosure for handling high activity materials abstract

Description

One of the most important problems that are met at the laboratories producing and handling radioisotopes is that of designing, building and operating enclosures suitable for the safe handling of active substances. With that purpose in mind, an enclosure has been designed and built for handling moderately high activities under a shielding made of 150 mm thick lead. A description is given of those aspects that may be of interest to people working in this field. (author)

Uno de los problemas mas importantes que tienen planteados los laboratorios de produccion y manipulacion de isotopos radiactivos, es el proyecto, montaje y puesta a punto, de recintos adecuados para el procesamiento sin riesgo de los productos activos. Dentro de esta linea, se ha estudiado y construido un nuevo recinto para la manipulacion de cantidades elevadas de actividad, blindado con una pared de plomo de 150 mm de espesor. Se detallan numerosos aspectos que pueden interesar a las personas que trabajan en este campo. (autor)
