Description
The nuclear plant analyzer ATLAS (ATHLET Analysis Simulator), developed at GRS since 1985, serves as a multi-purpose engineering analysis tool for applications such as transient and accident analysis, testing of operational and emergency procedures and the evaluation of computerized control room layouts. For analysis of plant situations where the man-machine interface (including operator aids) and the operators actions have to be accounted for as a significant factor, ATLAS is being enhanced by including knowledge which goes beyond just the simulation. The main sources of such knowledge are seen in the operating and emergency procedures, and in the probabilistic analyses performed on the plant. The requirements for such knowledge to be included in a decision support system for the analyst and the concept for the enhanced ATLAS are presented. (6 figs.)
