Parallel-series readout for a multiwire drift chamber

Description
A parallel-series readout system for a drift chamber is described. It allows one to considerably reduce the number of time-to-digital converters used. The results of testing the registration electronics setup for a mini drift chamber in a 10 GeV/c particle beam are given. It is shown that the system can be used to read information from precision drift chambers (σ≅50 μm). (orig.)
