Highlights: • On direct MRA, femoral adhesions appear primarily as complete obliterations of the peripheral compartment of the hip joint. • The signal intensity of the adhesions was most commonly intermediate compared to the capsule (hypointense) and contrast (hyperintense). • Femoral and labral adhesions occur at the site of primary surgical correction. • The Adhesion alpha angle may be used to quantify the loss of offset due to scar tissue. - Abstract: Objective sTo evaluate the appearance and distribution of intra-articular adhesions on direct MR arthrograms (MRA) in symptomatic patients after surgical hip dislocation (SHD) for the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).
