Description

The trivalent dysprosium Dy3+ doped SrMoO4 nanophosphors were prepared by hydrothermal method. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), Energy dispersive spectra (EDS), Transmission electron microscope (TEM), Ultraviolet-Visible microscope (UV), Fourier transform infrared spectroscope (FT-IR) techniques. The XRD results showed that the prepared SrMoO4 phosphor has a single phase scheelite structure with tetragonal symmetry and crystalline size is in the range of 10-50 nm.The formation of crystalline nanorods nature of the sample has been confirmed by the TEM. The size and morphology of the samples was controlled by surfactants, pH value and reaction time. The photoluminescence (PL) properties of SrMoO4:Dy3+ phosphors indicated energy transfer from MoO42- group to Dy3+. PL spectra indicated that the phosphors have bright yellow emission at 576 nm and blue emission at 485 nm under 353 nm excitation. (author)
