Description

A simple approximation formula for barrier height has been obtained in the frame of the molecular model of fission. The formula covers the barriers from alpha-decay to symmetrical fission of nuclei: BS=0.2066 Z1Z2(A11/2+A21/2)-1/2-Q-(D1+D2). Here Q is the binding energy for fragments A1, Z1 and A2, Z2 in the nucleus, whereas D1, D2 are the liquid drop energies for their equilibrium deformations. The formula is precise for spherical fragments and is approximate for deformed ones. For nuclei with Zf ≥ 90 the barrier in question is the ''second'', lower barrier in the symmetrical fission neighbourhood. The evaluated barriers coincide well with the experimental values. The formula can be used in calculations of the fragment mass distributions as well as in barrier calculation for fusion of nuclei with A1, Z1 and A2, Z2
