Nuclear energy in Europe after Chernobyl
Description
The author describes and discusses the impact of the Chernobyl accident in Europe. He says public confidence in nuclear energy declined after the accident for a number of reasons. The author says it is time to win back that confidence through better information on nuclear energy. Information must go beyond the simple facts and include a deep learning of the radioactivity of the units in use, and of the technology. Trust will only be won if public authorities demonstrate they are able to deal effectively with any anomaly
