Phenomenological constraints on broken supersymmetry
Description
It is shown that the existence of massless color octet quarks, which appear in a class of broken supersymmetric field theories, implies the existence of additional light (< approximately 1 GeV) unstable hadrons with large (> approximately 10 μb) production cross sections. The half-life for these states is estimated to be less than 10-8s. If it is greater than 10-10s, these states are already ruled out experimentally. (Auth.)
