Seven years operational experience of the Budapest WWR-SM type research reactor

Description
After reconstruction the Budapest WWR-SM type research reactor is operating since 1967. After briefly characterizing the reconstruction and giving basic parameters of the new configuration the paper discusses in details the experience gained during the subsequent seven years concerning operation. Core configurations, fuel economics, reactor control, engineering problems, dosimetry, radioactive wastes, etc. Fields of application of the reactor are: irradiation experiments, measurements at horizontal channels, experiments in nuclear physics, radiobiology and solid state physics.
