Natural radionuclides as tracers of surface soil movement in the semiarid region

Description

Located in the sub-middle region of the São Francisco River, Sobradinho Lake is about 40 km from the city of Petrolina in Pernambuco, Brazil. Initially, the purpose of building the dam was to generate electricity, but it ended up acquiring a flood control function. The reservoir is also used for fishing, irrigation, direct consumption and fish farming. In order to verify the sedimentation rate and the sources of chemical elements present in the soil at the edge of the reservoir, the fingerprint technique was used. Fingerprint is a chemical-mathematical method used to identify the sources of origin of matter, it makes use of natural tracers that make it possible to trace the origin of the material associated with cluster analysis. This analysis encompasses some statistical techniques such as analysis of deviations and variances, aiming to find and dissociate objects from similar groups
