Application of Relatively High Permeability Fe-Si-Al Powder Cores to Common Mode Chokes
Description
We have developed a novel common mode choke made of Fe-Si-Al powder core which exhibits relatively high permeability (μi), up to 147, and high saturation magnetic induction (BS). A common mode choke made of Fe-Si-Al powder core exhibits good DC bias characteristics of common mode inductance because of the high BS. Furthermore, the common mode choke shows excellent impedance performance because of frequency stability of the μi. It is concluded that relatively high permeability Fe-Si-Al powder core is suitable as a core material for common mode chokes in the work condition of big common mode currents and a wide frequency range (10 kHz–30 MHz).
