Description

Singly and doubly doped MS sulfide powders (M = Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba) with rare-earths (RE = Ce, Sm, Eu) have been synthesized and analysed. Their OSL spectra of different combinations of dopants (MS: Sm, Ce, Eu and (Sm, Ce), (Sm,Eu) and (Eu, Ce)) have been recorded and compared with respect to the influence of the host crystal. The singly doped spectra showed no lattice effects. Valence state of europium in MgS has been studied through MOESSBAUER spectroscopy
