Description

Vector analyzing power and differential cross-section angular distributions were measured for the 88Sr(d(pol),p)89Sr reaction at a deuteron energy of 12 MeV. The l-transfers and spectroscopic factors are determined for transitions to 14 levels in the first 4 MeV of excitation energy in 89Sr by means of a standard DWBA analysis of the data. The j-dependence of the vector analysing power is used to establish spin assignments for many of these transitions. The systematics of the neutron single particle structure at the N = 50 shell closure are explored by comparing the present results with similar studies of the structure of 91Zr. The predictions of particle-core coupling model calculations of the structure of 89Sr are examined and found to be in good agreement with the present results. (Auth.)
