On the nature of diffusional flow in porous-massive monometallic couples
Creators
- 1. Indian Inst. of Tech., Bombay. Dept. of Metallurgical Engineering
Description
The controversy raised by the works of Geguzin on single phase copper couples and of Navara and Easterling on copper and nickel couples is examined more closely in terms of the basic atomic mechanisms involved and in the light of fresh evidence obtained by the authors on iron couples. The diffusion annealing carried out on massive iron-porous iron monometal couple indicated that the specimens show an over all dimensional increase as a function of time. These results confirm the earlier observations of Geguzin. Various mechanism responsible for this have been examined
