Photofission effect account in gamma activation analysis
Description
The method for calculation of U and Th photofission effects which should be taken into account in interpretation of γ-spectra in γ-activation analysis is suggested. The method is realized in the algol code for the BESM-6 computer. The results obtained are compared with the data of measurements performed with Ge(Li)-detector. It is shown that the most intensive contribution to the spectrum of fission fragments is made by the photopeaks of 84Br, 89Rb, 98Tc, 92Sr, 101Tc, 104Tc, 128Sb, 133Te, 134I, 135I, 142La, 140Pr, 138Cs. The method considered is applicable to the solution of the problems of γ-activation analysis optimization
