Bulk magnetostriction and magnetization variation under hydrostatic pressure in REM-iron alloys and compounds. Communication 1. Amorphous alloys

Description
A study was made on the effect of all-sided pressure on magnetization (Δσ - effect) in amorphous REM-iron alloys. It was established that the value of Δσ-effect in amorphous alloys was distated by two contributions: change of domain magnetization and influence of pressure on magnetization per formula unit. Bulk magnetostriction of amorphous alloys was calculated on the basis of results of measuring magnetization and Δσ-effect. 12 refs.; 6 figs
