Estimation of thermodynamic properties of steam
Creators
- 1. Texas Agricultural and Mechanical Univ., College Station (USA). Dept. of Chemistry
Description
Recently the complete ideal gas thermal functions for (H2O)2, the water dimer, were evaluated. On this basis, the statistical thermodynamic properties of steam are now estimated in the low temperature region, 0 to 100 deg C, on the basis of two models. Firstly, properties of steam are estimated based on an ideal equilibrium mixture of monomers and dimers. The second case will consider the contributions of trimers in the low vapor pressure region. The results obtained are compared with available experimental values
