  • 1. Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp., Tokyo (Japan)

Description

The outline of the design, manufacture and installation of the emergency core cooling system for the advanced thermal prototype reactor ''FUGEN'' including high pressure injection system, low pressure injection system and quick injection system, steam discharging pool cooling system, isolation cooling system and decay heat removal system, is presented. ''FUGEN'' is the first prototype electricity generation plant with the heavy water-moderated and boiling light water-cooled reactor. The outline and flow sheets of these systems mentioned above and the specifications of the main components in these systems are explained with the interlock block diagram of these safety functions. The considerations for the design and manufacture of these systems and components are outlined. The time schedule for these installation at the site is indicated. The installation works from building construction to the final adjustment of the components and pipings, including foundation work, carrying-in of the components, pipings and penetration works, etc. are explained.
