Dislocation-induced rise of superconducting transition temperature in Nb
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kharkov (Ukraine). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
The influence of distribution of high-density (Nd) dislocations formed due to rolling at 20 K upon the superconducting transition temperature Tc of single-crystal Nb is studied. For uniformly distributed dislocations in the range Nd=(6-13) · 1010 cm -2 the experimental increment of Tc agrees with calculation within the model of additional electron attraction due to dislocation oscillations. When rotational plasticity occurs, the sharp rise of Tc is connected with growing fields of elastic stresses
