Effects of angular momentum alignment on the properties of collective bands in atomic nuclei

Description
The authors attempt to show the influence of rotation on the properties of nuclear collective excitations. Two examples are chosen: first the collective negative parity bands in actinides and second the quadrupole vibrational states in fast rotating nuclei. The first example shows the effect of alignment of vibrational angular momentum appearing as the result of Coriolis mixing of adiabatic states. The second example allows to study the properties of vibrational states in a situation where the bulk of angular momentum is of an aligned nature. They show that the properties of collective excitations change much and in a very characteristic way with the increase of the angular momentum
