A moving source model for energetic protons
Description
A model is presented to account for several characteristics of interplanetary shock associated events as observed with the proton experiment DFH aboard ISEE-3 (35-1600 KeV; three dimensional directional distributions). The agents are a moving source, diffusive particle propagation in the solar wind, and adiabatic deceleration in a spherically symmetric medium. The model is shown to be consistent with the observed anisotropy-time and intensity-time behaviour throughout many of the observed events
