On the synthesis of aluminium hexachloromolybdate and its interaction with organic ligands

  • 1. AN Uzbekskoj SSR, Tashkent. Inst. Khimii

Description

The AlMoCl6 synthesis is studied by interaction of molybdenum chloride compounds (MoCl3, MoCl5, MoCl5 + Mo) with aluminium trichloride at heating. The obtained AlMoCl6 crystals are of bright red colour, temperature of their decomposition in the air is 255 deg C. The crystals are stable in the air, insoluble in organic solvents, soluble in hydrochloric acid and in water. For elucidating the AlMoCl6 interaction with liquid amines (pyridine, aniline, piperidine) is studied. The formation of intraspherical Mo(3) amine complexes of [MoCl3A3] type is shown. The study of infrared spectra of complexes has lead to the conklusion on coordination of ligands with the central molybdenum atom
