SU(4) for the Dirac equation

Description
We show that the algebra of the Dirac ring of γ-matrices in four dimensions is isomorphic to the Lie algebra of SU(4) and that this is a symmetry group for the Dirac equation. The lattice transcription of the equation makes this symmetry apparent and it is connected with the fermion proliferation problem. Analogous results hold in two dimensions. (orig.)
