Exciton emission in electron-irradiated CdS

  • 1. Radiation Center of Osaka Prefecture, Sakai (Japan)

Description

An exciton emission at 487.1 nm around 14 K was found to appear in CdS single crystal by irradiation with 200-keV electrons. Its correlations to increases in intensity of the edge emission and in magnitude of conductivity by the irradiation were obtained. The exciton emission at 487.1 nm is attributed to radiation-produced donor levels which are also responsible for the edge emission. (auth.)
