Description
The hemopoietic activities in the patient's plasma were estimated and the possible relationship between these activities and the hemopoietic function after radiation was analysed. Using the MTT assay, the influence of patient's plasma on the proliferation of some cytokine-dependent cell lines (such as NFS-60, TF-1 and BET-2 cells) in the presence or absence of their dependent-cytokines was observed. Some GM-CSF-like, IL-3-like and Epo-like activities could be found in the plasma. Meanwhile, the inhibitory effects on the growth of NFS-60 and BET-2 cells significantly increased when the patient's plasma was added into the culture system with rhG-CSF and rhEpo. These changes were consistent with the changes of WBC, RBC and Hb in peripheral blood of the patient. Some erythropoietic and granulopoietic inhibitory activities were found in the plasma of an accidentally irradiated patient
