1979 operating results of German nuclear power plants. Pt. 1
Description
With an 18% increase in 1979 nuclear power had the highest growth rate of all energy sources in the Federal Republic of Germany. Nevertheless, its contribution to the supply of primary energy continues to be only 3.4%. According to the Annual Report by the ABE Committee of the Deutsches Atomforum, German nuclear power plants were able to achieve a satisfactory operating result in 1979 with 41.3 TWh of electricity generated and a contribution to the total electricity generation of approx. 11.2%. However, the two KWL and KRB-A demonstration nuclear power plants and the N.S. 'Otto Hahn' had to be decommissioned in 1979, chiefly for economic reasons. The releases of radioactivity from nuclear power plants continue to be far below the licensed levels also in 1979. The report contains detailed information about the operation in 1979 of each nuclear power plant on the basis of plant operations diagrams plus data about the radiological burdens to personnel, releases of radioactivity into the environment, etc. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Mit einer Steigerung von 18% hatte die Kernenergie 1979 die hoechste Zuwachsrate aller Energietraeger in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Trotzdem betraegt ihr Anteil an der Primaerenergieversorgung weiterhin nur 3,4%. Wie der im folgenden in Auszuegen wiedergegebene Jahresbericht des ABE-Ausschusses im Deutschen Atomforum zeigt, konnten die deutschen Kernkraftwerke 1979 mit einer Stromerzeugung von 41,3 TWh und einem Anteil von rd. 11,2% an der gesamten Stromerzeugung ein zufriedenstellendes Betriebsergebnis erzielen. Allerdings mussten die beiden Demonstrationskernkraftwerke KWL und KRB-A sowie das Nuklearschiff 'Otto Hahn' 1979 vor allem aus wirtschaftlichen Gruenden endgueltig stillgelegt werden. Die Abgabe von Radioaktivitaet aus den Kernkraftwerken lag auch 1979 weit unter den vorgeschriebenen Grenzwerten. (orig.)Additional details
