Description

A novel triple-layered transparent conductive film TiO2/CdS/Pd heterostructure was deposited via galvanic deposition on glass substrate at room temperature. Photocatalysts with wide optical absorption regions and efficient charge carrier transport capacity are highly efficient for photocatalytic activity. Oxides of high band gap can be coupled with chalcogenide semiconductors for the efficient photocatalytic degradation of metal and dyes. So, in our work synthesis of TiO2/CdS heterostructure increases the absorption capacity of TiO2. Further, deposition of a noble metal like palladium over this heterostructure increases the charge separation, which in turn diminishes electron–hole pair recombination.
