Post-operative observation of ilio-apophyseal transplants on the basis of radiography, computed tomography, autoradiography and histological assessment
Description
A study in 25 rabbits, in which the acetabular roof was reinforced by inserting a wedge-shaped autologous tissue fragment of the apophysis, led to the following conclusions: That complete healing and ossification of the implant took place within the observation period; that radiography, computed tomography, autoradiography and histology consistently provided evidence in confirmation of ossification; that a wedge-shaped fragment of apophyseal cartilage is a suitable material for plastic surgery in the acetabular roof. Die Untersuchung von 25 Kaninchen, denen ein autologer Apophysenspan als Keil fuer eine Pfannendachplastik eingesetzt wurde, zeigt: Das Implantat heilte und verknoecherte im Laufe der Beobachtungszeit; der Nachweis der Verknoecherung erfolgte roentgenologisch, computertomographisch, autoradiographisch und histologisch; Apophysenknorpel als Keil bei Pfannendachplastiken ist ein geeignetes Material.
