Description
Two methods of visual rapid determining on cylindrical samples of resistance to brittle fracture of structural steels possessing ductile-brittle transition are suggested. Both methods are based on the assumption that ductile as well as brittle (by mechanism of brittle transcrystallite cleavage) fractures are initiated by the same micromechanism of detachment while the resistance to microcleavage is related to genuine fracture stress and relative transverse narrowing of correlation dependence. The test results in the temperature range of -196-+20 deg C are presented
