Restricted iterative minimization method for analysing light curves of close binary systems

Creators

Description

A modification is presented of the iterative minimization method allowing the limb darkening coefficients to remain fixed during minimization. The calculated elements of UV Leo, RX Ari and V 338 Her are the same as the elements obtained by classical methods. New elements RS Cha were determined: i = 83.80, R = 0.225, r = 0.261 in blue and i = 83.60, R = 0.222, r = 0.264 in yellow. A three-dimensional presentation of the minimized Σ function shows some basic features of the method. (author)
