Threshold behavior of synchrotron radiation photoionization for Bin (n≤4)
- 1. Nagoya Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
Ionization profiles in the threshold region (7.05 to 8.40 eV) have been measured for Bin (n≤4) by using synchrotron radiation, which crosses a molecular beam coupled with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Resonance lines due to autoionization are observed only for monomer. The photoionization spectrum of Bi2 shows a depletion of intensity, which indicates a predissociation of Bi2 to Bi+ +Bi. Bi3 and Bi4 show only slowly varying profiles. (author)
