Description

On the basis of two simple models the problem of forced magnetic field-line reconnection in the vicinity of the intersection of two separatrix planes which corresponds e.g. to the interaction of two magnetic islands is considered. The system of MHD equations both for a hot incompressible plasma and a cold plasma with divv-vector ≠0 is used. Especially the characteristic time of the evolution of the perturbations and the size of their localization region are estimated. It is shown that this time is smaller than the formation time of the magnetic islands known from the literature. The space-time structure of the magnetic field and the current are displayed.
