New fracture model for ceramics

Description

A new model of brittle material fracturing is proposed expecially for fast and simple utilization in hydrodynamic computer programs. The model allows to forecast the final stage of a long tungsten alloy rod penetration into TiB2 to an accuracy of 10% for the rates within 1.36-2.65 mm/μs range and TiB2 plate thickness of 8-40 mm.14 refs., 4 figs
