RI beam factory project and recent studies with radioactive beams at RIKEN
Description
The RI beam factory is proposed at RIKEN which is the project to construct a superconducting ring cyclotron (SRC) and a double storage-cooler ring (MUSES). Radioactive beams of up to 500 A MeV for light nuclei and 150 A MeV for the heaviest nuclei are supplied as secondary beams.Facility plan,experimental opportunities in nuclear physics and present status and recent developments are described. Spectroscopy of exotic nuclei and decoupling of proton and neutron distribution are studied with the radioactive beams
