Filtration of contaminated water from Chernobyl NNP cooling pond into Pripyat' river
Description
Mathematical model of contaminated water flow from the Chernobyl NPP cooling pond into the Pripyat' river is presented. The calculation results are also given. The low contamination rate of the river waters by radioactive materials from the cooling pond is noted and explained by the fact that the greater part of them is deposited at the bottom in undissolved state and that due to radionuclide sorption by soil the time of contaminated flow from the cooling pond to the river is comparable with the given radionuclide halflife
