Permeation of thorium from hydrochloric acid medium through emulsion liquid membrane containing Bis-2 ethylhexylphosphoric acid
Description
Permeation of thorium from HCl medium was investigated using emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) containing bis-2-Ethylhexylphosphoric acid in cyclohexane as carries, polyethylene glycol di oleate as surfactant and HCl as a stripping solution. The different parameters parameters affecting the permeation of thorium through the ELM were studied and the factors affecting the permeation rate were evaluated. A method for separation of thorium-234 from its parent uranium was developed based on the investigated system.7 fig., 1 tab
