The author can see no sense in demanding an ethical regime to be applied exclusively to nuclear power but rather calls for an approach that discusses nuclear power as one constituent of the complex energy issue in a way spanning all dimensions involved, as e.g. the technological, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and humanistic aspects. An ethical approach does not question scientific research, or science or technology, but examines their relation to man and the future of humanity, so that an ethical approach will first of all demand that society will bring forward conscientious experts as reliable partners in the process of discussing the ethical implications of progress and development in a higly industrialised civilisation. Abstract (German)

Eine Ethik der Kernenergie fuer sich allein hat keinen Sinn. Vielmehr muss der Bereich der Energie im allgemeinen abgehandelt werden, mit allen Bestandteilen von den technischen, oekonomischen, kulturellen, humanitaeren und humanistischen Gesichtspunkten her. Es ist klar, dass die Ethik weder Forschung, noch Wissenschaft, noch Technik in Frage stellt, sondern vielmehr auf deren Beziehung zum Menschen und seiner Zukunft eingeht. Ueberdies scheinen das Gleichgewicht und der gesunde Menschenverstand in diesem Konzept zu fordern, dass es in der Gesellschaft gewissenhafte Experten gibt, die angesichts des Fortschrittes Fachkunde besitzen muessen. Diese Forderung wird im Beitrag hervorgehoben
