Description

Information on spatial density distribution of materials contained inside a sealed waste drum is of paramount importance from the point of view of non-destructive examination. Transmission-type tomographic imaging technique using an external isotopic radiation source and iterative method of reconstruction like the algebraic reconstruction techniques and expectation maximization (EM) technique can be effectively used for mapping the approximate attenuation coefficients of materials contained across a specified plane.
