Description
Excretion dynamics was studied of the individual radioactive materials in the bile of Wistar rats following i.v. administration of 131I-labelled Bromsulfan, this in animals with liver damage induced by intragastric application of tetrachloromethane, and in animals without intoxication. At least two radioactive compounds with slightly different excretion dynamics were found in the rat bile following administration of the radiopharmaceutical. In the intoxicated animals, the peak of radioactivity excretion in the bile was belated and the total amount of radioactivity excreted during 120 minutes was lower while the degree of liver damage correlated with the proportion of the amount excreted. With a lower amount of the radioactive compound administered, the proportion excreted in the bile decreased, apparently as a result of retention of the preparation outside the liver tissue. (author)
